A common mistake I see repeated over and over again with search engine marketers is the lack of competitive intelligence. Not performing even basic competitive intelligence analysis for your clients can mean the failure of your campaign. We have included some powerful competitive intelligence tools below for you to review and use if you are not already doing so.
Quantcast: This site takes a look into a sites demographics and target audience. A great tool to have in any internet marketers tool chest.
Xinu: This tool is built off of seobook and is pretty cumulative. Searches for domain information, header information, social bookmarking links that point back to selected domain name, indexed pages, inbound links and much more…
SpyFu: This tool allows you to spy on your competitions PPC information. You can view how much they are spending, what words they are competing for and more…
KeywordSpy: Keyword spy has many uses, you can see the PPC competition but also the SEO competition and the keywords the competitor ranks for. Also view the affiliate keywords and you can look back in time as well.
HitWise: This is a much more expensive program but if you are a large company with 10’s of thousands to through around this tool might just be for you.
Trellian: This is a professional and more pricey but less pricey then hitwise. Trellian utilizes an exceptionally reliant competitive intellegence services and tools.
Adgooroo: This service lets you monitor and track your PPC competition. Pretty useful tool.
Index Checker: This system allows you to check how many pages are indexed on competing sites.
KeyCompete:Do you need to know what keywords your competition is bidding on? Keycompete pulls from many databases and crawles the engine to keep update lists. For a small fee you can have a days pass and search and refine for hours!
Compete: Search Analytics is a great tool. Its very inexpensive at $2.00 a report. You can pull rankings reports and what terms are generating traffic from your competition from competes search analytics which is pulled from over 2,000,000 internet users and 6 search engines.
GoogSpy: This is a system to help spy on competitions adwords campaigns.
Microsoft Adlabs: Adlabs has many features from keyword funnels to demographic estimations.
SEODigger: This site allows you to find what rankings a site has and links you directly to the results. Perfect for competitive intelligence for SEO.
SEOmoz: They have a bunch of quality tools that can help analyze a page of a competitor.
NicheBot: This system allows you to find niche keywords and help you find keywords that people are searching for certain products and services.
Competition Dominator: This is a desktop application that looks into your competitions PPC campaigns.
ToolPad: This system offers competitive analysis tools for internet marketers.
Statsaholic: This shows you stats across multi free plateforms.
InternetListed: Fastest and easiest way to check your PageRank, Alexa Rank, and more!
Ranking.com: Provides a list of the most popular web sites. Top web sites are listed with rankings based on popularity and show traffic ranking details.
URLTrends.com: Shows trend history, rankings history, backlink history and more…
Tagurls: web analytics tool combining the top 500000 U.S. websites with their topic tags, using data from del.icio.us and Quantcast.
Google Trends: Shows top trends and popular keywords over time.
Google Hot Trends: Shows popular trends and hot keywords by date.
Google Zeitgeist: Shows googles data on hot searches quarterly in depth.
Ask IQ: Shows top searches on ask per month.
Competitious: This site is an easy, confidential way to discover and share competitive information collaboratively across your organization.

Thank you very much for providing such a good collection on powerful competitive intelligence tools. This is normally every body does but after reading this blog they make stop making these mistakes and try to do analysis their clients website and help them in getting traffic
