Excellent set of tips. Thanks! I've got a good one for you, and I'd be thrilled if you could email me the asnwer. I do a lot of research and I often try to search for decision-makers contact info via their respective company's email structure. The '@' sign is worthless in search. Is there a way to incorporate the '@' sign into an email structure search such as: @microsoft.com or @rogers.com ? Thanks! Steve

Hey Steve,

The author search function allows you to search within google groups however if you do a search like this *@gmail.com that is a way to pull email addresses. You can also target email addresses by adding text within quotes like this "toys".

check these searches out.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=1pf&q=*%40gmail.com&btnG=Search

and

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=%22*%40gmail.com%22+%2B+site%3Agoogle.com&btnG=Search

You might want to experiment with these types of operators to get the exact results you are looking for as my exmaples might not be exactly what you are looking for however from what I can tell the @ sign is returning results.

Nice article. If you need deeper, more specific search operators, especially for functions like filtering out by email addresses, take a look at DevonAgent. Google it. Happy queries.

I was hoping to find an answer to a search question regarding subdirectories in a domain.

If you go to www.random-art.org and look at visitor-induced images, you'll see each one is placed in a set of subdirectories, such as http://www.random-art.org/gallery/large/2/9/108492.jpg

I want to see what images are in that and other folders.
But no search engine I've used will let me specify a subdirectory. Do you know of a method?
